I was thrilled to learn that John Iddon, who opened the RAS show, chose my painting ‘Strawberry Hill Gothic’ as his favourite of the Icon section of the show.
I then received Visitors Choice for ‘Eel Pie Land’, so all in all a successful show!

I’ll be entering four of my icon themed mixed media pieces in this exhibition in Richmond.
I’ve spent the winter months working on a new series of mixed media artworks using ‘Reflection’ as a theme. These three are 30cm x 30cm and on canvas board.
Yesterday morning I made my first visit to the Newport Street Gallery – Damien Hirst’s new home for his extensive art collection. It’s a great space for art. The architects have converted three cathedral like Victorian scenery painting workshops, in places 15 metres high.
The first exhibition is of John Hoyland’s wonderful abstract paintings from 1964 – 82. The white airy rooms display perfectly the effervescent colours of Hoyland’s huge canvases. An inspiring morning!
I’ll be taking part in the Richmond Art Society winter exhibition. It starts on Saturday 28th November and runs to Sunday 6th December. Open 10am to 6pm (5pm on last day).
I’ll be exhibiting with KAOS artists at Cafe Jax in Kingston this month. The exhibition starts on Saturday 14th November. The theme is ‘Still Life’ and I’ll be showing my new colourful still life canvases such as the one featured on the Private View invite…
Myself and two other Richmond artists have our paintings of the view from Richmond Hill on show at The Bowman Gallery in Richmond this week. It’s interesting that they were all done on the same day and yet are so different. My version is the green one on the right.
The Landmark Art Fair was well attended in spite of road closures due to Rugby and happily two of my paintings are now off to new homes – ‘Morning Mist, Ham Riverside and ‘January Rain, Richmond Riverside.
